Perhaps the most interesting matchup of the weekend comes on Monday Night Football, as Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints play host to Aaron Rodgers and the Kansas City Chiefs. The 2-0 Chiefs appear to be a force to be reckoned with in the NFC, while the 1-1 Saints look to get back on track after a surprising loss to the Baltimore Ravens last Monday.

The Saints were projected to be one of the premier teams in the NFC this season, but the loss last week was extremely disappointing. With Michael Thomas sitting out with an ankle injury, Brees and the Saints’ offense could not get going against the Ravens. Brees looked unable to push the ball down the field on Monday night, making many question whether his age is finally catching up to him.

The Saints will be without Thomas again in this one. Can Brees get the offense going without his star receiver? Do not be surprised if we see a heavy dose of Alvin Kamara on Monday night as they look to jumpstart this offense.

The Chiefs are rolling into this one at 2-0 and have been getting strong play across the board. Aaron Rodgers looks as good as ever and their defense is showing fantastic playmaking ability at all three levels. Running back Aaron Jones is coming off of a massive performance and gives the Chiefs a worthy playmaker on the ground and as a pass-catcher out of the backfield.

Chiefs star wide receiver Davante Adams is doubtful for this game and not having him on the field will undoubtedly hurt their passing attack. The Chiefs already lack impact depth at the wide receiver position, making losing Adams particularly tough. However, Rodgers will likely find a way to keep the chains moving.

Brees will probably be the biggest story in this game one way or another. He looked bad against the Ravens and it is fair to wonder whether he can help this team become seriously competitive this season. Can Brees get the Saints back on track or will Rodgers and the Chiefs just keep on rolling? Make sure to check out Monday Night Football this evening to find out.
